My brother when letting the dogs out misscounted the chickens. He thought he counted 5 when one moved and he counted her again. All my other girls are in shock, especially the 2 that say her get ripped apart. Then to make it worse he put them in their coup today and let the dogs out. Even though he should know they are now terrified of them from what they saw. I am now cuddling with them trying to make them feel better aswell as myself.

I feel as if i am also in shock from having to see my baby like that. It was the most traumatic, disturbing moment in my entire life, and i never want to experience it again. I can barely sleep, these last few nights have been extremely rough on me and them.

Well, we have found her sister, the one that went missing, we just found her corpse today. We are going to get her and bury her next to her sister. We found her behind the fence, which is odd because ive looked there. Maybe she was so weak she could not fly back over and died there. Its so very tragic.
 
I guess, but i am always worrying about those dogs. Im down to only 4 girls left. And what are the odds of finding her body 2 days after her sister dies.
Edit: apparently it was not her body that my brother found. Only a leg and a few feathers. Im going to bury the last bit of her remains next to her sister. They were the same age and just under 2 years old. And we now firmly believe that a raccoon got her.

As well as if we could afford to get my old dog better i believe none of this would have happened because no new dogs and she scared raccoons away. After she died right before Thanksgiving is when everything started.
 
do ur chicken have run or fence they can stay in? would give piece of mind if they have safe place to live and dog cant get them. u can buy fence at feed store and get brother to help put up

They do have a pretty big coop but if the dogs tried they would get through it, but im trying to get my brother to probably get rid of them all together, it was a bad idea from the start to get them.
