Careful @Ponypoor
You have competition, she'll have Mr.P in no time off you 😉

She can have him! He is such a silly boy, he still won’t thump Laverne for munching on his pin feathers!

Soon he will be back to his glorious self, his topknot is growing back - but alas it’s coming in lopsided! I’ll have to take a photo and post, it’s quite charming on him.

:fl
No sweetheart. I want to get where I intend to go 🤔 not swim with the fish :D

Is the Queen Mary still running???

Oh to be a chicken and just thrown oneself to the ground and sunbathe

Those wing feathers are wicked if they hit you in the eye, she’s moulting but not the wing feathers it seems.

I should cut them back so they don’t slash me when it am handling her.

Truly is a wing nut!

Ok so update on the wall sitters and bed time:

Last night it only took 25 minutes to wrangle them all and shove them in the Hen House.

That beast Cayenne though insists on flying up into my arms, on my head back shoulders…. Anywhere she can get to on me where she figures I will snuggle her till she’s asleep. Sheesh! And now Chickie-chick is trying the same thing. Both are not lightweights!

So with Cayenne tucked under my arm like a football (US football that is), I commenced my headcount, 30…. Count again, 30.

Oh for crying out loud!

Go and check the walls for any wall sitters that have sneaked out and sure enough there is Little Mouse. “Get in the pot!”

I get her off the stall wall and she runs over to the Hem House and I let her in, check for any other missing chooks. Count, 31. Did I count Cayenne whom I am still carrying?

Count again, 31. Sheesh! I need 32….

So I go and hunt around inside and outside the barn, even in Mr P’s area. No hidden away chooks.

By now Madam Cayenne is getting sleepy so I toss her back in the Hen House do another count…. 31.

Then it dawned on me. Number 32 had gone to the rainbow bridge in the sky. Silly me!

Well that solved that problem, and with everyone settled down, I went and had my supper.

I need to write on the wall how many there are in each area so I can remember!
I do that every time someone passes! There’s a big hole in the coop when they’re gone!

Clyde is just soo handsome even when molting. I really need to borrow him for just a month. Can you imagine the chicks he and Poppet would produce.

I thought you didn’t want Frizzles 😊♥️

A warming spot is really needed with him in the winter, he really doesn’t like the cold.

But go figure Fluffy, Curly and Betty are fine. Clyde just seems to have less density in his feathers, Fluffy is just really thick feathers, even Curly and Betty. I wonder if it’s a Roo thing with the frizzle silkie feathers.

I find those girls really do not handle the heat well.

I bet I could get him down there 😉

All those chicks would likely be partridges and 50% would be frizzle
😊♥️

I can’t seem to get a good picture but Mr. Chips is developing bright green feathers in his tail and some around his shoulders.
They are much brighter green than these picture show.

I am still getting my mind around the whole rooster thing, but there is no denying he is a good looking fella.
