Hi all,
We have two 7-week-old Egyptian Fayoumi chicks and one is extremely loud. Rather than chirping, it sounds like a high pitched whistle. All day long. And since the chick coop and run are near the house and the neighbor's house, it's especially annoying. If you've seen the Bird Box, this sound is as crazy-making as the aliens are in that film are. We've never had a bird this loud or irritating
My questions are: Is there anything I can do to make her less loud and, if anyone has had this breed, are these chicks just extremely loud? Also, how old can chicks be left out on their own in the yard during the day? Our daytime predators are cats and, very rarely, hawks.
Thanks for any help you can give us!
