I should on a good day get about 52 duck eggs from my domestics,(scovy, pekin, mallard.rouen, swedish and mixed) I am gearing up for feb. sales at the feed store. but yea almost hatchery :lau
I need at least 200-250 ducklings a month just for 1 feed store. I sell to 3 of them. Its about to get real busy around here. Egg sales have picked up really well and all these husseys are tryin to
hold out on me. I am about to start squeezin em a couple times a day  :gig

LOL @ husseys. Get'em Mike. :gig

WOW!!! Those are some big numbers and you definitely need that many. I hope those husseys get the memo and start shooting out more eggs. I'll have my husseys call your husseys and give them a bit of a pep talk. :gig

Yea I sell alot of ducklings and chicks at the feed stores. You gotta make feed bills somehow. I think its funny as all get out that people will call me and buy chicks and ducks from me directly because they dont like the ones at the feed store.

Ok, here is the new feeder that was built on yesterday. Before I had the long trough like feeders that were placed in the chicken yard and they could eat all day. The only thing is that I would have to move them when I knew that it was raining so that the feed didn't get wet. With this feeder, I won't have to move it. It has a covered tin roof. I actually splurged and bought new tin. I couldn't recycle any old tin for fear of having holes in it and the feed getting wet. So, I actually spent money on this feeder. But that's ok. It will save me a lot of time.

Our chickens, ducks, geese and turkeys will be eating from this one feeder. I still have 1 longer trough feeder under the raised coop (just because).

We put in 150 lbs of feed this morning and we didn't even fill it up 1/4 of the way. So, I"m not sure how many lbs of feed it can hold. I'll find out soon enough. You can see in the 4th picture that the top flips back so that feed can be poured in.

Nice have been planning on building almost the same design here. Only with a break metal floor and sides in the trough itself to keep moisture from seeping through the wood :)
Ever now and then it requires a little money to be spent Julie

You two are cracking me up! I really need to order a cabinet incubator (thinking about a Dickey), but I just can't being myself to spend the money right now. I know I could sell my Brinsea Eco 20 advance and make about half of the money I need for a new one, but I'm having trouble pulling the trigger. My incubators are almost full, and my Sebbies haven't even started laying!

Mike, I'm so cheap that my friends tease me and tell me that I still have my lunch money from 1st grad saved in my piggy bank. :gig

I'll keep in mind the moisture that you are talking about. Thanks for bringing that point up. :thumbsup

You should splurge and get that incubator. ;)

Before I die, I want to get an incubator and try it out. I'm scared that I may like it and try hatching more than I need. And I"m also scared that my electric bill will increase because it has to be plugged in all day and all night. :gig
