The older group is still penned. Remember when I posted that one fly out of their pen. Well he flew about an acre away and the turkeys had to heard him back home. When I saw that, I knew that they would not say in the chicken yard. I'm not sure what to do with them. I want to clip their wings but I hate to do that. It is definitely possible for them to remain in a person's chicken yard. I have seen it before. Years ago when I first got some, they stayed in the yard and free ranges but when laying season came, they ran off to the wooded areas to lay their eggs and hatch and I never saw them again. I had 25 of them. :/
I can't wait to put this hatch in the chicken yard to see what they will do.
Oh yea I remember that!! Well they have 30 acres to range on so I will just take the chance. The lady I got the eggs from said she started training them with white millet. She said she'd go in there and hollar "Guinea Millet!!" everytime she gave it to them and says when she lets them out all she has to do is hollar that and they all come running!!
OH NO!!! Sorry to hear that. And yes they are sooooooooo much harder to raise but at 6
I'm sure they got wet cause truthfully these things are to stupid to get in the coop to get out of it!! I was wondering about that also!!
LOL. Too cute !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for sharing.Okay have to post these 2 videos. First is just them being ducks so it's more for the cuteness factor. The second one is what they do everytime Eddie goes to take them out and put them back in the brooder!! Too funny!!

Thanks!! We don't have a pond either!!I've found out alot of people have ducks, geese, etc. without having a pond. I know Julie uses the small blue kiddie pools!! I need to go get a few more of them before they quit selling them!!
It's kinda like really how do you keep them out the rain?? They have a coop to go in but they won't. Geez they won't even roost in it anymore. They go on top of the door that seperates the coop are from the run.The old saying, "A wet poult is a dead poult". I hope that you don't lose anymore.
