The chick with his eye closed. I have a thread open in the cures section though.
Very cute & looking good! I hope you find an answer for the one w/his eye closed.

I have appleyard eggs on the way :) Soooo excited!

Shellie has beautiful birds! I would love some of her silver appleyards, but I'm going to have a hard enough time trying to talk my husband into letting me keep a couple of the Cayugas lol!

Well hubby mentioned getting ducks for the pond so we will see how this works out. Guess I will be building a duck coop soon :)

I had to post this last pic of the day. For those of you that don't know, I foster wild/feral cats. A co-worker got me involved in this and I love it. When they capture wild/feral cats, they spay and neuter them, give them shots and place them in foster care. I take them in and work with them for months until they are not wild anymore. After that, I bring them back and they are put up for adoption. I just love working with the feral cats. And when I say wild, they are literally "untouchable". You cannot touch them for weeks at a time. They usually live under my bed or my back room for a month before they come out and allow me to touch them and that touch may last a full 3 seconds and that's it until the next day. I have it set up to where they do not have to come in contact with me unless they want to. After about a month's time, is when I can actually touch them for about a minute. Doesn't sound like a lot of time huh? But it is when you are dealing with a feral cat that has never been touched before by a human being EVER in their life. Upon getting them for the first time, if I tried to touch them they will begin their hissing and biting and scratching, so I leave them alone until they are ready. When they let me know that they are ready for human contact is when the cat/human relationship begins. It's a work in progress every day but it's fun.

I can remember after a month or so, when I had to take Tyler (that's his name) in to get his shots, they vet and workers were sacred of him because they dealt with him from Day 1 when he was a wild cat but I assured them that Tyler was not going to be a problem. Well lo and behold when I picked him up from the vet at the end of the day and I asked them how did Tyler do, they were amazed at how far he had progressed. One of the vet techs commented that Tyler let her do ANYTHING to him. She could poke and prode him, touch him, and everything else and he just sat there and allowed it. I was so happy to hear that.

Anyway, this one particular cat was THE WORST cat that I have had to foster. He was like a WILD Tiger in the Jungle!!! I worked with him and was determined to bring out the teddy bear out in him. Well, I finally broke the barrier and many months later, he was FULLY "re-habbed" and he was adopted to a very loving family. When the adopted parents adopt them, they stay in contact with the adoption agency by sharing stories and pics. Well, this is the latest pic of my "Tyler". I fell out laughing when I saw this pic. I CANNOT believe how far my boy has come from Day 1 until now. They have this little boy spoiled rotten. From Rags To Riches. From the Streets To a Loving Home.

Lucky you. When those muscovys start setting on eggs, you might as well Exit Stage Left cause you have a fight on your hands. They are ruthless. I'm scared of them.

I would rather have 25 silkies AND showgirls in my chicken yard then to deal with a setting scovy hen and ya'll know I'm scare of those little creatures.
