Well I had a meaty kill himself today. I found him head down and butt up in the feed trough. On closer inspection it seems that he ate himself to death and popped his crop. Processing was set for next weekend!

Everything I have read until today was about the "blowing up" and disproving it and some sort of poison in uncooked rice (I think arsenic but can't quite remember). Glad to know that is wrong as well!Another rice link on BYC.

I was feeding them more fat centered items because the ones we processed this week had not an ounce of fat on them (not even the pullets), not even under the skin. I like my fat! He just over did it. I think now I will have to make a trail of food for them instead of the trough so they have to work for it and not gorge themselves to death.NO!!!!!!!!! Are you serious???????? WOW!! Poor baby.![]()
