"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

Hey ladies, and gents,   hope your day is going as good as mine.  Lost 3 lbs this week, just from the extra work outside in the heat.  I ordered a pink hat and noticed a shipping date of aug 1.   :lau     I've worked harder this last month than I ever had in my life.   My SIL started doing the passive agressive way of his by talking about how when he was growing up he knew that things that had to be done everyday, we just had to pull up the bootstraps and get it done.  I hadn't gotten around to finished loading the dishes.   Man,   pi$$ed my off big time.  I told him when he is 67 instead of 45 he can be excused with his work.  Couldn't do it.  So finished this morning.  My DD  said that she noticed that I was spending a lot of time doing chicken stuff and not cooking so much in the evenings.  She works so hard at the groom shop that she never cooks and when I don't, they order pizza.  I make no apologies about this.  My  life is my life.  But that was yesterday and so totally in the past.  I'm happy today.
My babies are outside in the shade.  I screwed up and didn't put ACV in the feed and they didn't like it as mush.  I can't give the big girls FF because of scratch so they are doing the dry stuff for a day or two.  Giving everybody Nutri Drench for the heat.   Misting down the coop a couple of times.  Ok, not misting. I sprayed the he// out of the chickens but I bet after all the screaming they felt better.    :gig

You lost 3 lbs that would make me happy. Your not their maid are you? I'd of told him well the dish washer could use your bootstraps. My older bootstraps were used up with you new chicken business .:old when I was growing up we were taught to respect our elders. You will enjoy the fruits of my labor when the eggs start rolling in. To help your daughter take one day a week an cook 4 or however many you want and cook things that freeze and reheat well. No apologies needed they must have had the impression they would have a maid and cook. I would help out but on my terms. You've earned it. Enjoy your Sunday . Pam

Lol I got her in a trade at 16 weeks old...in January!
She doesn't have a hiding spot, no injury, no egg eating evidence, no illness. Tired of waiting. Her comb has been screaming red for 4 months and her hiney has poofed out but she doesn't squat lol she does scream if you look at her wrong tho, such a spaz. Hubby ran out with the gun when I had caught her for this pic :gig thought somethin was attacking
Here's her in April I believe
400

Remember my Amercaunas were 10 months!!! Remember vent pics bec I couldn't believe it?

Thanks Sweetie, I appreciate it. The idea of freezer meals might be a really good idea. I'll look into it.

Ugh, this momma is so tired! My 2 kids and hubby came home from their military kids camp. Everyone was so sore, bit up, rashed out (someone used TIDE on their laundry which causes 2 of mine to break out), bruised up, sunburned, full of lots of good stories and once again, oh so very sore. I was canning peach pie filling when they came home. My oldest keeps trying to get me to let her just eat it out of the jar! Guess its good. Saturday was mostly a rest day for them. Today though, Oh brother. We did a lot of "to do's"!!! Hubby fixed up one of the sides of the new chicken barn. He put together the frame and chain link for that side, so the chickens on that side can have a play yard connected to their doors. I helped him by raking out the area and twisting on the wire on the pipes while he pulled the chain link. We dug potatoes. The ants have been horrible in them so we didn't get that nice of a crop. I might just save some for this fall and use them as seed potatoes and try again. We picked cucumbers again. Picked peaches again. He cut the lawn and weed eated. I cleaned and trimmed the ends of the cucumbers and put them up in the fridge in salted water and I am going to can them tomorrow, just too tired. Then we decided to throw a turkey in the oven on low so we can have a June Thanksgiving tomorrow, lol. Funny thing is we have almost all of our favorite foods right now that we like for a Thanksgiving dinner. I have 2 buckets full of peaches to do tomorrow. I think they are 2 or 3 gal buckets and there are some that are wormy since I got distracted from my spraying schedule. So I won't end up with nearly that much usable fruit in the end. But of course we are grateful for what there is. I will need to pick both trees at least once or twice more to finish up. But right now I have all the peaches pulled that are ripe, and very nearly ripe. So I have a couple of days before I need to pick again. I also planted out some more herb and pepper seeds. I am beginning to second guess my decision to cut my pain meds. Lol! But its either hurt, or just be foggy. Sometimes I would really rather be able to think like a normal person and not like a zombie. I can hack for now, its summer and the sun does wonders for you. And we had another pullet lay her first egg today! Woot!

Buff Orp playing dead in the sunshine......she also LOVES buttons........but I will save those pics for another post.

Some of todays peaches. These look a bit better than the last batch I picked. So I am crossing my fingers for tomorrow.

Is that a pickle in your pocket???? The other picture looked so naughty! Hahaha!!! So of course I texted it to my sister (insert smiley with horns and a halo)

Soooo, I have dirt in my hair, and in my clothes from digging potatoes. But I changed my clothes after digging potatoes. So the dirt is inside my under clothes. How does that happen? And hubby says it looks like I have black pepper dandruff. Shower time!

Happy New Week Peeps!

Wow Lemon. If I had a day like that I would fall down in exhaustion! You are Super Woman.

And welcome to our thread. I'm 20 miles east of Shreveport. Got chickens yet? What kind?

Girls and gents, are you ready for this? A neighbor 1 mi down has lost 5 goats this month from a (get this)panther. Got a camera and took pictures. I knew we had an occasional bobcat but wowza. Makes me want to bring all my chickens inside.
