Morning peeps, gonna rain today. How's down south? I'm leaving the babies in the storeroom for today. It's cool enough and they have more room to run. Well, all my eggs from Pa. the basques and coronation susses were a bust. I knew it was too far. Bummer. But I got 18 more SBEL's from DMRippy and will hatch them.

Aww I'm sorry about the Basques & Sussies -- hope your SBEL's do good for you!
Hope it rains here -- it's supposed to today, tomorrow, Thurs -- garden needs it!

I picked a couple dozen more cukes yesterday evening after work, then purple pod pole beans, then drove over to my cousin's house & picked a bucket of wild plums - they were all over the ground, brought those home--most of them were starting to split from the heat so I washed 'em, trimmed 'em, cooked 'em down & ended up with 8 cups of juice which is in the fridge waiting to be turned into jelly this weekend.

Today I have to transplant some garden salsa peppers into big pots when I get home.

I had a toad take up residence in a pot of begonias I have by the back door. I gave him a pot w/nothing but soil in it so he'd leave my begonias alone & quit uprooting them. Well, yesterday I noticed they were uprooted again so I put my hand in there & sure enough, there he was under the soil. I told him, "Your place is over here"! & picked him up & when I went to dig a hole in the empty pot to put him inside, another even bigger toad popped out! So I guess they think I am running a toad motel or something.

:lau @ toad motel. I didn't know we had wild plums in La. I like wild fruit. I had a wild cherry but Katrina decided to take it down. I broke my first egg in my robe this morning ! :barnie

Why can't we all be neighbors and share our gardens?? That would be wonderful. I have lots of corn, watermelon, cantaloupe, honey dew, and figs! My blueberry bushes didn't produce this year. :( My satsumas are cute little babies right now.

They're about the size of cherries -- they come in red & yellow varieties. My cousin has the red ones. We have them pop up all over, like weeds. They also have long thorns on them, so we cut ours down except for a few I left in the chicken yards for shade - but they don't make plums for some reason.

lol @ breaking your first egg in your robe! it won't be the last!
