"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

Hey Sonnie55     :welcome    And welcome to our thread.     I'm 20 miles east of Shreveport.    Got chickens yet?   What kind?

Girls and gents,   are you ready for this?   A neighbor 1 mi down has lost 5 goats this month from a (get this)panther.   Got a camera and took pictures.   I knew we had an occasional bobcat but wowza.  Makes me want to bring all my chickens inside.   :lau

A panther? Wow my pet chicken is having a sale they have. Preditor urine. I think it's wolf. Has anyone tried it? Pam

A panther! Wow.
I wonder if they ever caught that loose tiger out by Ft. Polk?

Good afternoon La-yers! busy weekend here. Put up 16 pints of pickles yesterday, plus a quart of "refrigerator pickles"! LOVE the new garden spot! Now if the tomatoes would just start turning! This afternoon have to go by my cousin's house & pick some plums. Plum jam - my fav!!

Hens are all doing fine.

I love canning bread and butter pickles.Saddly mine have't been that great this year. Glad your getting Plums for your jam. Have you heard from Kunteygirl? She's MIA.:( Pam

Y'all know I've been having a hard time with brumble foot on one of my hens. I've done surgery twice and can't get the seed out poor baby she's head hen and wasn't afraid of anyone and would never squat for any one. Well she quats for me now. Arter she tries to run away. Went to buy vetramycin to clean it out. 32.00 for a small bottle. If you ever see it on sale or in a contest get it. or try to win it.
After all this I gave all my girls a good exam. I have two more with smaller cases of it. So do yourself a favor and check your hens feet carefully that black on the bottom might not be mud. clean good the check. If caught early the tricide neo will work. Surgery was no fun for all concerned. Pam
