"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

I have a question! I would like to know what breed of chickens everyone is raising? EVERYONE IN LOUISIANA. I have EEs, Wheaten and Blue Wheaten Ameraucana, and I have Wheaten and Gold Duckwing Sulmtalers ordered for mid November. Thanks Eric

I have ( all hatchery no show) 2 golden laced wyandottes, 1 silver laced wyandotte, 2 golden laced polish, 1 silver laced polish, 2 blue orpington (1 blk, 1 blue), 1 blue amercauna, 1 EE, 1 buff brahma, 1 australorp, 1 colombian wyandotte, 1 mystery, Also, I still have "Horn Dog Harry Larry" who is STILL going to freezer camp!!

Good morning peeps. Wet and chilly this morning. Gumbo, stew or soup weather today.
I gave my boys the choice of stew or chili. They picked chili. I'll be making a big double batch of ground beef and steak tip chili with kidney and navy beans.
Don't laugh, but I've never made gumbo. What is the gumbo preference? Seafood, or chicken, etc? Does anyone have a recipe for gumbo that they enjoy?
Please share!!!

I'm wondering what the silkie babies will come out like. Both of the parents I'm told are "Blue". But my roo has a fair amount of buff color now on the back of his neck. So I think he is called something else, not blue. I forget what its called. But I'm hoping with his buff and maybe she has something hidden that may throw us some neat looking babies. Maybe???
Oh, I can't wait to see pictures!! This is the part of chickens that I love. The wait kills me!!! I really want to get something that has a little of a "frizzled" look to it. Not sure if I'm describing it correctly. I also would love one that lays "olive" colored eggs.

Depending on which eggs hatch there may be White bantam frizzle with the Silkie roo........that might be really bizarre!

Gutting some carving pumpkins, do I just feed seeds and innards raw on a treat tray or do I have to prepare it in anyway?

I think some folks bake/dry them in the oven some IDK really the whys or what fors maybe do a search on here for it there should be plenty of info on feeding them the seeds thye sy it has a natural dewormer affect, once again KDK for sure.
