"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

I bought my bator and turner at tractor supply when they were on sale and I bought a thermometer with a hygrometer built in for about 12.00 at walmart the bator has channels in the bottom. Started it the day before to get temp anh humidity stable. I left it at 99. Just remember it is ok if it gets a couple degrees cooler 96 to 97. No higher than 101.

So probably the little giant one? That's the one I'm looking at. Is yours still air or does ît have a fan? Btw.. Thanks so much for replying!

Mine is still air. I was a little freaked out too. So just jump in and take the plunge. It was very fun. I candled them a couple of times to make sure it was going well. My hubby even got to see one hatch. He was amazed.

I think I'm going to! Im excited but scared. So lets see, I plan on getting the little giant with an egg turner (i wont have time to hand turn). ideal temp is 99. A tad lower is ok but no higher than 101. Humidity should be around 50-60% until lockdown. Then, 70% or so.

Is that correct?

Anything else i need to know?

Also. Ive heard you can take the little "plugs" out of the styrofoam bators to help with changing your humidity. Did you do this or just leave them all in?

What day does lockdown begin? Do you just take the eggs out of the turner and place them on the "floor" of the bator?

:bun Well, we processed a buck today. 12 weeks old, 5lbs live, dressed out to 2.45lbs. Sound decent?
Hubby actually did the whole kill/skin process (i cleaned it after lol) while I was out on a 20 min delivery :gig
He used a wringer type method and said it was instant. Zero struggle. All of our rabbits are socialized well so handling him was easy as was hooking his head quick around bent bar and pull...done. so easy and quick hubby said. I watched him gut upon returning and then we cleaned it up, inspected it and sealed it. I am so happy. I have a line of people wanting our meat and was scared I would chicken out or be too upset or maybe hubby would not want too? But all worked out!
