"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

Finished making this shark hat after my girls were in bed, tonight. I know it isn't chicken related, but I really wanted to show it off and I couldn't put it on social networks since it is a surprise for one of my friends. She loves shark week! You can't tell in the pictures, but the yarn is sparkly and glittery!

Great work! I want to learn to knit. I did make soap tonight. Love the shark hat!!!!! :yesss:

So y'all know I was suspecting I had a cockerel given to me and I didn't post it but it was a definite after I saw him three times in the afternoon trying to mount my girls. Lol. So I called my husbands friend and asked him to please find another home for him bc I cannot have one. I left town for a two days and came back to my husband saying "surprise!" He did a three for one trade with his friend. :ep that brings me up to ten girls now. They seem to be integrated pretty well with only minimal chasing going on....mainly feeding time. What I noticed last night though, and treated for right away was one of them had horrible scaly leg mites. I waited till dark and grabbed her off the roost, washed her legs as gently as possibly, dried them, rubbed them with vet rx (I had it on hand and it said it could be used for scaly leg), and them rubbed her legs down with petroleum jelly and put her back on the roost. Does this mean I need to treat all the girls now? Do I need to do the whole process or can I get away with just the vet rx or petroleum jelly? Any thoughts? She has been here for three nights now.

axiseve, Glad to have you. Do a little searching around the threads and you will have such a good time. Lots of info out there. Do you have chickens yet. I know a fellow that lives close and has German New Hampshires. The really bright colored ones. Beautiful. Come on often and tell us about yourself. I'm out of Shreveport and retired. Thirty something chickens. Various breeds.

Thank you for running that errand for us. I really appercheate that you went out of your way. Pam
I was glad to be of some help, I was raised in the late 50s and 60s when good deeds were a common thing and nothing asked in return, if we were told to do it we did it, if we were asked, we did it, if we wanted to do it, we asked and didn't do it if told not to, My grand parents raised 6 acres of truck crops with only a horse and a dozen or more kids and grandkids. A deed is something to be proud of and gives you that ole( I done something Great to help[ somebody out tingly feeling} Know whut i mean?
