"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

Yep! I'm getting tired of all the rain.

Well the PO just called me.....I have more chicks to pick up this morning! Just what we all need....more babies.

I also just got off the phone with one of the State Vets. I'm set up for next Friday to get the NPIP testing done. LOL I have 81 birds as of today ( that changes daily) and only 21 birds over 6-months of age right now.

Chris

Well Chris I can help you out on decreasing your numbers some and upping mine(that' s bad) anytime you get absolutely sick and tired of looking at any of those GS BR pullets just send them my wa,y I'd gladly pay any expenses involved it getting them here LOL!
Good luck with the NPIP your going to be very busy but atleast you don't have to do but a small percent of those 81 birds. HUH?

Mmmmm You know I make a recipe of chicken and dumplings that has been in my family called Chicken Fricassee. Now that you got me thinking about it, i will have to make it for dinner. I am guessing it is a French recipe because it comes from my mom's mom and her parents came over from france.

Is it a family SECRET recipe? ;) Can you share the recipe with us? :drool

What is the name of the vet that is going to do the testing? I think I may have had close to 300 (testable) animals when I had mine first done.

It didn't take too long.

The Vet's name is Warren Joseph. I also was talking to Michael Barrington about what my wife would have to do to get certified. I hadn't told her yet...lol. That would make things easier if she could do this for me.

Jeff, lucky for me I don't think that I will have to get a % of all 81, just a % of the ones over 6 months old. He told me that as long as I can catch the birds it should only take but about 20 minutes or so. With the BR's, your looking for pullets right? Once they are old enough for me to see how many boys and how many girls I have....I'll see what I can do for you. I never planned on keeping them all so I would be glad to work with you on that how ever I can. The same with the NH's and any other good lines that I have.

Well thanks Chris for the offer I will let you know as I have yet to hear anything from Matt if/when he's going to have BRs or even if I'm in the waiting line(which I'm sure it is a lenthy one). I think I should end up with 2 breeding trios of NH as of now so I should be set up and good to go on them, but if anything happens and of course with animals esp chickens and such it is possible that I may need some in the future and the offer will sure be returned to you like-.wise. I have great expectations in my on going breeding program(s). I just hope I don't overload my wagon with too many! LOL. Oh on the BRs too, I may be receiving some from Stan later like end of Apr. or around that time, still all depends on Matt of course, they are GS BR but straight from Danny at GS and I would like to have for some diversity but still would be in the same strain so to say. He wants one of my GS males out of Mrs. Kathy's/J-wips stock for the same reason as I, just a little different to see if we can work on these guys tails a little bit. MAYBE?
