"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

Very nice. You might consider lining the cyclone fencing with something a bit smaller. Predators will get the chickens all freaked out then they'll grab'em when they run by. I'd also close off those gaps with some small-hole wire as well. Looks like it'll serve you for many years.

They sell Purina brand, at Hammond feed and seed, where I went, but only in the laying pellets and chick starter, others are Country Acres brand, but thy do not sell either flock raiser, nor a Broiler feed. I'll have to check the labels!
Country acres is made by Nutrina.

If your feed store does not carry the Country Acres Mix for meet birds and will not order it for you....Marsolan's in Covington does. 985-892-1433

Also O'Keef's sells the Broiler feed that I use and they also stock and sell the Flock Raiser in crumbles and in pellets. They are in Covington as well.

YES!!!
Mom made some Sunday & I had some yesterday for lunch -- chicken & sausage.

Now I'm just waiting on my cousins who hunt to score me some ducks -- smoked duck & sausage gumbo is my absolute favorite!!!

YES Julie it's the BEST! The smoky flavor really makes a gumbo "zing"! You need to try it!

We have two smokers - a metal one for meat & a "cold smoker" made of wood that Jim built for his homemade sausages & fish & cheeses, things like that.

I'd raise some Muscovies if I had somebody else to process them - I just wouldn't have the heart to do it myself. I can chop off a mean roo's head w/no problem but ducks are too pretty and cute.
