Thanks
I'm a day late saying hello but wanted to pop in and welcome you anyway!
Buckwheat is probably old enough to move to a grower (~18% protein) or all flock (~16% protein). Given the temps in the summer, I'd probably stick with grower as when its over 90 they tend to drink more and eat less. Good summer treats are melons and cucumbers... I also will freeze water in 2L bottles and put them in the water bowls, lid off when its over 90. When its really hot, high protein treats (not more than 10% of total diet) with lots of vitamins are also good.Thank you buckwheat 7-9 weeks old and Iam feeding him/her purina starter feed non medicated right now it's about 87-92 degrees here winters are very warm and summers are extremely hot only have haveing 1 will he be lonly
Whats that meanI went to your profile page and looked at the picture of Buckwheat. I am concerned that he may be a Cornish X meat bird. Can you post a profile picture of him?
ThanksYes, lots of people only have hens and no roosters (including me). Roosters are not necessary unless you want chicks to hatch.
