Loving the chick life!

My Rhode Islands knew me right away, though. Try bringing a few treats to them and eventually they will learn

I've been the only one feeding them and giving them food from my hand, hoping it helps. They do love sitting on me and snugglinh under my chin, or gently pecking my cheek

It's a good start! They'll soon know, don't worry. They also learn off each other, in my case, one of them follows me and the rest understand what it means. Did you get them at three weeks old? Or chicks? That can matter a lot. What breed? Leghorns are the worst for not being tame. Ya, so just give them time, soon you'll have to watch your step!

I got them at just 2 weeks, and they are imperfect ayam cemanis!

I was hoping to fix up the large dog cage I have so they couldn't escape and could be outside, but the rain kinda foiled that, so keeping them exercised and out of trouble is hard!

I put my chicks with the hens at that age. When it rains I just lock them up until the rain passes then let them out again.

I don't have a coop to begin with, so I'm a bit under prepared :/

Oh that's okay, the dog pen will work with something on top to stop the rain, maybe

The only issue is that they escape because they're still small.. I need to wrap the outside with the chicken wire I have, but rain stopped me from doing that today.
