Low 70's, 50% chance of thunderstorms. Shorts or jeans????

You're so funny and a good mom! I'll wear shorts tomorrow in respect for you, and your son.

Imp- but no hoodie I do have minimum standards.

and where is the feild trip? indoors I take it?

Today I could have sworn it forcasted 70* and thunderstorms....it was barely 60 today...pretty darn chilly.

Tomorrow for here it saying 67* partly cloudy.

I thought if it was 70* then I would put my dd in socks instead of tights with her school uniform and she'd be comfortable. I did not realize it was going to be so darn cold. She didn't say anything when she got home, so she survived.

It's your call mom.

but tomorrow...my dd's wearing tights.

(I can get by with that having a husband in the military LOL) And yeah, I wasn't exactly blessed in the knee department either!!! LOL

This weather is just INSANE, Maplesky!!! It is almost impossible to know HOW to dress them, anyway!!! They will be riding a train (an enclosed, real train) and playing at a park IF the weather cooperates. They were supposed to go last week and it got cancelled because of major storms (including some tornadoes). I wish the weather would just cooperate for them.

They learn from making their own choices and dealing with the consequences. They learn nothing from our choices. We are only there to keep them alive for the next choice, and pick up the pieces.

Knowing what it costs me to get my jeans tailored, I'd hate to see what shorts would cost.

Half the fabric, same cost, and still funky knees

I would have to agree with The Chicken Lady

My kids are in shorts anytime its over 65 degrees, but they always have a hoodie with them. Unless its really windy and downpouring, then they will put on jeans.

I am all for letting my kids make their own choices, and much of the time I do.....but I like to keep things within reason according to age, also. I am REALLY glad that most people don't think we are only here to keep them alive and pick up the pieces when they are 7. My style, adding more responsibility as they mature a bit, seems to work better than taking stock in the super glue and Duct tape companies.

NOW.......if the poor kid's class can just get through today without getting soaked and enjoy their day.
