I have a 7 month rooster that was fine until yesterday. He couldn't stand up and would fall to the back or side. I noticed a lump on the top of his head on one side of his comb. He will drink when I bring water to him and eat treats if placed in front of him but otherwise flops around to move.
I have him separated from the flock but do you think this is a tumor or something contagious to the flock? I do not have access to a vet that sees birds.

It could be a tumor that's squishing his brain, or an abscess that formed on his head.
I hope he gets better!

Do you have another rooster who might have pecked him, or could he have injured himself? Is there a scab or blood under the feathers? I would keep him separated and warm in a dog crate near food and water. He seems to have a head injury, and he hopefully will get better. But he needs to have the food and water offered to him all day. Chicken sling chairs can sometimes help with that, but only if they tolerate them and don’t try to escape. Here is a good link with examples of home slings in the first 2 pages:

Thank you for your thoughts. I was able to get a better picture today and it looks like there are two lumps. One on his head to the left of his comb and one on the same side but toward his neck. We were actually going to re-home him but can't do that now. I mostly concerned if he is contagious to the rest of the flock.
