Yes. His race is called Saiyans. They live in space and go to other planted and destroy all the creatures living there then they sell the planet to an other alien race looking for a home. Goku went to take over earth but hurt himself and forgot what to do. An old guy took him in and now Goku protects earth from all the bad guys.
