Hello to all my fowl friends! I’m sitting inside listening to the 70 mile an hour winds, wishing I was with my chickens 💨 In my boredom, I decided to throw some eggs in the incubator, and was inspired to follow in many member’s footsteps here and do an adopt an egg hatch along:jumpy

These will be the first eggs incubated from my mixed flock, which include Easter Eggers, Crested Cream Legbar, Buff Orpington, Blue Plymouth and Rhode Island Red, and a couple Ayam Cemani eggs for good measure . The daddy for all except the two cemanis is the newest addition to the flock, Lloyd, who is a blue Leghorn. The pops for the cemanis is the mac daddy of them all, Cyclone. Not positive all girls have been covered, but we’ll see!

I have numbered my beautiful mixed eggs from 1-21. As you can see, I skipped right over #20, so I threw in a cemani egg, which is #20. Pick a number, pick a name, guess the sex and hatch date/time, if you like.

I’ve attached some daily holidays that fall on March 19th this year, in case you need inspiration for a name. One of the most important, of course, is NATIONAL POULTRY DAY!:celebrate

2023 Daily Holidays that fall on March 19, include:
  • Let’s Laugh Day
  • Certified Nurses Day
  • Mothering Sunday - March 19, 2023 (21 Days before Easter)
  • National Chocolate Caramel Day

  • Operation Iraqi Freedom Day
