Welcome to BYC I joined about 2 months ago when I started to incubate my eggs and they started hatching out. Trust me this site has been a life saver on many different subjects.

Okay I came up with a great idea, I had some old pool outside liner just laying around so I cut it to use for under the roost should easy to clean.

Very nice. That larger wire near the top won't keep predators out- raccoons, possums, et. al. will just climb right through.
The poultry netting also won't keep raccoons out.

. Your girls are soooo cute, and yes it is normal for ALL of them to crowd into one nesting box(even all at once). My Ameraucana's are always trying to push by banties out of the "best" spot. Even when they are not ready to lay

.(my chickens are too lazy to use my nesting boxes, my large Rouen however is more than happy to FLY up and lay in one.

PS, LOVE your recycled coop.

Gargoyle thank you for the heads up and that's crazy the make chicken wire that raccoon can get though!!! I don't want to come out and see feathers all over the place I think that small square wire at my bottom of my run will do the best all the way around the run and by the way great BYC page!
