Hi Friends,
please meet Maggie Duck, my eight months old Magpie duck (she was sold to me as a Magpie, but she looks more like a Black Swedish or a Shetland duck), she is looking really sad on below picture:
That's because she is limping with her left foot for weeks now and her »humon« is unable to find the reason why and to really help her. I (the »humon«) have tried warm soaks with and without Epsom salt, cold soaks with and without Epsom-salt without any result. Maggie had been restricted to a hospital bed for some days - which made her very sad, but did not help her foot.
Maggie is walking on her toes with the left leg and doesn't put down the whole foot. The foot isn't swollen or hot, the skin isn't rough, there is no scab or blister or any sign of bumble-foot… (Or do i need to order a new set of glasses?):
I was massaging her foot with GoldBond, which she kind of enjoyed if i didn't kept her too long in my lap, but it was helping only for a very short time. Since two days we have switched to this stuff:
She still enjoys the massage and also the pain-killer seems to work for about two hours during which she walks normal.
I'm running out of ideas! The fact that she is walking normal during the time the pain-killer is active should point to something wrong in her foot, or am i wrong again? Please help Maggie!
