I am planning on using a heater plate instead of a lamp in the brooder for the little quails. Does anyone have any brands that they love? Pros and cons to the heater plate? Does it work well for quails?

Heating pads are the best, because you can bend them and they're nice and soft. The only cost is the heating pad. I love love love the one I made.

The sunbeam no auto shutoff heating pad is what I use. It's around $25 I think. A light blue color.

Any advice?!! I am trying to calibrate the hygrometer I bought (acurite 0047). But there is no calibration adjustment on it. How do I know if it is right or if my incubator (NR 360)'s humidity gage is right? I put it the acurite hygrometer in a Tupperware with a teaspoon of salt and a few drops of water over night. It measured it to be 68%. What do I do?
