Magicfly Incubator...

This is indeed my first time and it was for that reason I thought the magicfly would be good! Apparently not.....
I will be hatching quail. ($18 for 18 eggs)

Are they shipped or local? A buck an egg is kinda high IMO unless they're a special type

Word for the wise though, if you double up in slots, it's too heavy for the egg turner to move automatically. Had it happen and didn't know until day 6

I’ve got 2 of the janoel 12 models and they’re definitely tricky when you first start it up. I would for sure recommend a couple test runs with non valuable eggs first... and a separate thermometer/hygrometer is a must; the gauge on them is awful and never to be trusted. That said, they were the only incubators that fit my criteria within my budget (if I were to try to get an nr360 it would cost me close to $500 with shipping and exchange) and I’ve figured out the quirks on both of mine and usually get decent-excellent hatch rates. Every once in a while I have a terrible hatch but since all my eggs are shipped I doubt that it’s the incubator that’s entirely at fault. 🤷🏼‍♀️
I also hand turn all my eggs so I can fit a lot more in than I could with the turner. I think at one point I had 23 chicken eggs in one of them. Lol.
it really depends on how much you’re willing to spend, the availability, and if you’re able to keep a close watch over it. I personally work full time and still have had pretty good success with mine, but I did work through probably 4 batches of eggs before I got a good handle on how it works.
