@Claires Poultry sorry for not answering, I've been away for a few days. You got help from someone who actually know what he's talking about, so I won't be throwing out more bad advice.
I've changed my mind about what barred drake to keep. I have two blue colors, one dark and one light. I like the light one and want to continue breeding it. Holley, the barred drake I originally wanted to keep looks like the one in the middle, only barred. The one in the back here, however, looks very promising.

Even color, no white spots on the chest. If he gets a solid white head too, he's perfect. AND he's nice and fairly tame. So here's New Holley. Or New Holland for tractor enthusiasts...

(Holley will be sold, he's too good looking for food.)
Naughty girl, isn't that Goon 1?! Poor little Daphne! That's not very magnificent OR marvelous, Goon 1!
One of my broody Muscovy hens recently developed a bad habit of biting any duckling that comes into the coop! Well, I guess they're not really ducklings anymore, they have most of their feathers grown in. She not really hurting them, just chewing them a bit every time they walk in the door! Here a nibble, there a nibble.See, I also have a Muscovy hen that's not so magnificent or marvelous, but at least she's cute! She sounds like a precious, innocent little thing whenever she is talking, but she not as innocent as she looks!
Beautiful duckies!I got some pics of my duckies yesterday. Here they are.

Here is Cocoa eating out of the top of the feeder! My drakes love to do that!

The ducks have a patch of weeds in their pen that are taller than I am. They love sitting under the weeds and enjoying the shade!

Good to hear that she is no longer being scary!Thankfully, she has regained her sanity and is now back with her sisters, who have not held a grudge. I think that they are just relieved that she is no longer scary! No one was injured badly during her reign of terror, but Goon 2 did have a clump of chest feathers ripped out, as well as a few neck feathers. Goon 1 is usually the sweetest and gentlest duck, which made her switch to murderous beasty all the more alarming!
Thank you!Beautiful duckies!![]()
