What an adorable pic. That's so sweet!

I've never had a pair of love birds, but I've had a trio of love birds. They have proved to be my very best trio of Muscovies all the way around.
They always liked each other very much and kinda stayed in their own little group and weren't always with the rest of the ducks. They were very bonded to each other. Lilach and Ora always hatched their eggs and raised their ducklings together, too.
Lilach won't be easy to replace, I doubt Cocoa and Ora will ever have the same bond with a new hen as they did with Lilach.

Wish me luck! Winnona gave up sitting after one day. All broodiness gone, back to her sweet loveable self.The blue chicken wanted to take over so I decided to remove both clutches (the second one had a number of chook eggs) and Husband told me to have a crack at hatching myself. What else do you do with 29 eggs

Today I'm making the final decisions on which Muscovies I'm going to save as breeders and which ones I'm going to butcher.

I'm mostly focusing on solid chocolate and several different shades of blue fawn for next year. Oh, plus I'm going to do some experimenting with this other color I hatched out this year. I'm still not 100% sure which color is yet.
I saved back 25 total. 7 old ones and 18 new young ones from this year. I'll post pics and more details soon.
