Husband found Daisys hidey hole today. Here I was thinking she stopped laying. Sadly after our visit for the goanna yesterday there's no eggs left. For her safety I had to block the hole, because it's very likely the flamming dinosaur will be back. And while they don't go out of their way to eat my birds, I'm sure if she was in there when he came back he'd have no problem disposing of her to get to the eggs.

Daffy has started laying again today, her pretty green eggs are always a delight to find.

My muscovies are very messy creatures, so I was delighted to find a "little pond sucker" in my local hardware store today. It's a little plastic box which uses a Venturi effect created by the garden hose to suck water out of the ducks' pool (which is half a plastic barrel, nothing flash). This is so much quicker than bucketing all that brown water onto my vege patch! I'm quite relieved. I did not enjoy the look of all that brown water at all!
