Magpie Ducks

In any event, you have good birds to start with.

Yea, I really do like them. However I am up to 1 female and 3 drakes. I need more female ducks and can't seem to find any. I want female magpies but they are impossible to fine! I should text the guy I got them from and ask him where he got these two drakes. Although he'll probably argue with me that they aren't drakes.

Have you gone to the IWBA (International Waterfowl Breeders Association) website?? If you posted on there, there should be a few contacts that can provide you with breeders.

No, I don't think I've come across that one yet. I will check it out. Thanks so much!

I have a small flock that appear to have magpie in them. Wanted to join this thread for more info. Thanks!

I just got a male magpie duckling a few days ago and he has already imprinted on me! He follows me around my house and peeps very loudly when I am not near him. It is so cute! Anyways, to me he does not look like he has the "ideal" magpie pattering. I heard those are hard to come by and this is my first magpie. I was wondering if anyone can give their opinions on his pattering. Also, can the pattering change when he feathers out? In other words can the coloring and the pattering on his fuzz change when he gets older?

Awww! congrats Super sweet...I can't wait to get the season going again this year! Markings on your wee one are nice...
Markings you see as a duckling will be markings in the adult duck! Something that I appreciate when I am selling babies in the spring.
How wonderful too see so many new babies already on their way...growing up with great ducky people! Beauties they will be!
