Magpie Ducks

Let me re-phrase that. So when you said his markings were nice does that mean they do look like the ideal markings or somewhat like them?

I am just curious but will the bill and feet of my magpie duckling stay marbled or will they turn to a solid color.
This is what I mean by marbled

I want to tag along on this thread. I am so fortunate to have just acquired my first ducks - 6 magpies - 1 blue drake, 1 black drake, 1 blue girl and 3 black girls. They got here and settled in right away like they were here all along, they seemed to like the new digs. Now the sweetgrass turkeys - not so much. I'm near Vancouver Island, BC, Canada.

congratulations on the new Magpies! You will really enjoy their personalities! My little one is just full of energy and is very peppy. Couldnt love him more. Can you send pics of your new babies? We would love to see them

Stumbled across two magpies at the local feed store and grabbed em ? Wasn't sure if they were magpies but since they were the only two in a sea of Pekins, roughens (possibly mallard) and a handful of cambells, I grabbed em. Found which hatchery they came from and found them to be magpies. One looks pretty well colored, one not so much (not enough of a cap on the head) here's hoping I didn't get two drakes (g) anyone in Texas with good magpies?

Any new pics? Your magpie was much closer to the ideal pattern than mine. My girl had way too much black, but I loved her that way!
