Right now, there are 8 chicks using it, and there is plenty of room for more. I wouldn't have thought it would handle so many, but it does. Of course, these are 3 and 4 day old chicks.

Was planning on setting eggs tomorrow; a last, small set before this Easter extravaganza. Just before leaving home for a few hours tonight, I saw 6+ lav Orp eggs nobody was bidding on; they had a little over 3 hours to closeing. I lost a short skirmish with that impulse control thingie............................ now I have eggs coming this week, mailed tomorrow, and hopefully they will be here in time to set Sat morning.
I did swing by and picked up my half finished cabinent bator.................... I suppose I should get busy on it soon.

it has been 10 hrs since first pip and no progress yet but it is chirping some also i just noticed i have another pip and also a few eggs moving at day 15 all eggs were alive i hope they did not die between then and now we will see in a few day

its going good trying to keep myself from looking every 2 min lol i was about to go to bed but i wanted to check on the first and when i did i noticed the second pip and 2 more eggs moving guess now i got my second wind and looks like i will not be sleeping i will be studying and listening to their peeps DH thinks i am crazy but i caught him looking in also he thought that i had not seen him but i did lol i will turn him to our side eventually lol. just a little bit about me i am not a teenager if that's what some might be thing when i say study i am far from being a teenager lol i decided to go back to college to finish my nursing degree once i got all the kids in school.Also i have my DH going this weekend to buy the stuff to build me a new coop and run this time bigger lol
ok everyone i now have 3 pips with 3 more eggs wiggling i could have more pips but i can not get a good look at the eggs under thethermometer i have it on top of a few eggs to make sure the temp stays at 100 my question is the first to pip has not donemuch in the last 12 hrs it still looks the same it is peeping but faintly is the chick ok
