Kathy it is all good! Just take the screws out of the bottom and you will see the foam piece. I just let mine dry and then put it back together. It was simple. I didn't check mine for a month and then I found the metal piece rusted a little so I wiped it off and cleaned stuff and it is good as new.

SCG!

I haven't got a PM

Maybe I would be too much in your whirlwind visit?

mahalo got his expensive eggs today. (plus extras)

The fellow at The Feed Barn didn't really want to help me this morning so I packed up my daughter and we drove to The Pet Food Depot and bought a bunch of Layena at a great discount rate.

Luckily I didn't have mold, but I did have some rust spots on the foam from the metal weight thing in the bottom. I didn't know about the "do not submerge" rule until a month after I let it sit in a sink of bleach water. So hopefully yours is fine.

Shadow Mountain High School is holding it's annual, "Mr. Shadow" contest.

Our #3 boy is in the competition. It's a fundraiser for the March of Dimes.... so I'm off to watch he (and my wife...she walks him down the aisle for the dress up part of the competition). His best friend won the competition last year. In two years my #4 should walk away with the crown without much worry... he is so extremely talented. #1 came in 2nd place 4 years ago. #2 wouldn't "lower himself" to become a part of the competition two years ago.

Have a great evening y'all and when I come back at 9PM (Midnight Eastern) I'll fill you all in on the results.

Superchemicalgal... PM me! At the very least I'll give you my phone # and we can chat.

I am so sorry that you guys went through this

, but at the same time grateful that you guys posted about it here or I would have did the same thing. I'm curious.... Do you guys know if there is a warning sign about submerging it on the box or care instructions? It seems like a lot of people on here are making the same mistake. I bought mine last year and don't remember if I saw that in the care instructions. I only remember it stating not to submerge the top peace. I didn't have time to really clean it "right" for this hatch (which in my plans would have been submerging it) and only used clorox wipes to wipe it down. I did take it apart this time before cleaning it properly.

Today is lockdown for my duck eggs and I already have a pip! Good thing I noticed them rockin last night. I went ahead and lockeddown then. Maybe they will hatch before my son leaves early Saturday.

Softball season has started and the winds are kicking up. Spring has sprung
