OK, buttered my English Muffin, called it a biscuit. Got to pry myself away from the action in the incubator (pips and zips all over, chicks jumping the dividers
) and get my behind into town to pick up more wood to finish my brooder/broodie hutch - at least the 2nd door on top so I can seal it and use it for a brooder to move out the 3 week olds and give my hatchies a home.
Two more splits out! One more split pipped and the two lav eggs pipped! OK now where am I going to put all of them (thinking maybe I should have thought of that first?
Ok, I guess I don't have a NN baby anymore! Alfred, my silkie, went broody for the first time a few days ago. I let her have a couple eggs, and she stayed on the nest for about four days now. I brought Lola, the NN baby I just hatched out yesterday, out to the nestbox just to see what would happen, and Alfred made a space in the center of her eggs, put Lola in the middle, and nestled everything in again. It was so cute!
