Mahonri's 2nd Annual BYC EASTER HATCH. Post pics of your chicks!

I want to start by thanking the members here that share such a wealth of knowledge:)
and made our very first hatch attempt a wonderful success! We had a day that none of us will ever forget:jumpy
we started with 4 brown SLW eggs. and 8 green Americana eggs. 1 brown and one green eggs did not make it. BUT we have 10 healthy fuzzy butts in the brooder box on Easter morn.

My hatch is over with the last one having to be helped out at 8:41 this morning.

The gang of 8 removed from hatcher last night as they were very crowded

I didn't join you guys this year, as I knew I'd be out of town on some crucial days. So I set a few little Belgian d'Anver eggs for a right-after-Easter hatch. I've got pippage this morning, so I very well could have an Easter chick or 2.

Morning all here is the only bird that hatched, and it wasnt one that I listed to hatch, but was in the bator with the Chukar's when my son burnt a hole in my styro bator.

here Is Toasty the only chick that made it through 107º temp

It looks like I'm going to end up with nine. I started with 17 locked down 16. I have 9 out two pipped and died and the rest are unpipped. I will leave them alone for another day or so. Not the best hatch rate but I'm happy with it. Especially since I got 2 from 28 last time.

I am still working on my miracle hatch. I believe I have 20 out , 2 more pips. The eggs are definitaly way more brittle and harder than normal and the membranes are very leathery and tough, if that is a way of descibing it. I think I have more viable, but will wait until tonight at least to see. These had the 113 temp spike at day seven. Don't know how hot the eggs got, but they were way hotter than they should have been. I have my humidity much higher than I normaly do and would expect to have not many more pip. I am worried about drowning them.. I set 41 so would consider any good, and 20 out , is just amazing.
