Started to hear peeping last night. Woke up to 5 pips. Hope the grand kids can see some hatch today. Happy Easter everyone!

My hatch is officially over. Just checked my last six eggs. Four of the five were day 18/19 quitters, one had internally pipped and died and the last one quit a lot earlier. I knew I had one questionable one at lockdown but figured since it didn't smell I would put it in. I wound up with 12 chicks and six poults. Eighteen healthy, happy babies out of 30 eggs originally set. That is 60% hatch rate going by the rules of the thread. If I go by how many made it to lockdown it is a 75% hatch rate. I have to say that is great considering that 29 of the eggs I set were shipped. I am so incredibly greatful for all of the adorable babies I got. HAPPY EASTER to all!!! Keeping

The four eggs left in the incubator aren't doing anything, but I'll leave them for a day or two just to see. Then maybe I'll try a float test.
My pup is VERY curious about the chicks. I'm not sure what her intent is, but I suspect she means to herd them. When the cats make noise on the porch, she runs to alert us with great concern. She's now doing that with the chicks peeping in the bathroom... which they do A LOT. So, the dog woke me up about six times last night to tell me that we needed to go see to the chicks. Hopefully she'll get more used to them soon.

I awoke to chicks in the hatcher! I haven't even thought to peek in since Saturday morning when my 2 nieces were here.
I also have three dead after pipping - beaks were out of the shells & membrane - not sure what happened. All I moved to hatcher had movement.
The one I dropped the other day did not make it.
None of my dominiques are hatching yet. Am thinking only 2-3 will.

About 8-10 days ago DH hatched the same kind of eggs I have (his BSLs). All of his hatched - so

what is going on for me.....

I always have good hatches.....always better than his!

Well put me down in the worst hatch ever category. Of the four that made it out, one died over night. Candled this morning and they are all dead. Shrink wrapped. I HATE my LG bator. I will never plugg it in again. This is the worst hatch I have ever had. I am so upset.

Wow! Sorry I didn't post, I had a surprise party for DH's birthday yesterday.....had too much going on! lol
I had 5 hatch.....out of 6, 1 never started.
