Was just surprised at another hatchling all by itself in a second Octagon20. So now I have 10 chicks!
Sorry to hear about Eggbert, Debi.
I'm about to log off to get ready for my Easter excursion to look at a couple of houses up in the foothills. Wish me luck I find something suitable for me and my flock (although The Plan is not to move up there right away).
I'm fine. My car on the other hand.
I didn't have another accident, I caught it on opne of those stupid cement things in a parking lot. Pulled it right off and broke off piece that hold it on. Can't believe I did that.
The estimate from when the girl hit me on the 4th was a lot and it was the back bumper. Ended up her insurance wasn't paid up to date, so I have to deal with that, but I broke the under piece too and it holds all my light wiring up and it's cracked and dragging. I have it cable tied tie holding it up, but I'm supposed to be taking a turket to my daughter's and I'm a little nervous that it's going to drop. Side is just barely holding.
Mary that is a really cute picture. I did that to my horses one year with a "Frosty" snowman on top instead of ears. Didn't know that horses could do "stink eye" till then. My DD's half Percheron and alpha mare gave me the serious stink eye. I almost wet myself laughing so hard!
Took DH to the coop to show off my broody.
Chickens are NOT used to him.
They ALL freaked out!
Rooster flew over on top of Broody.
I run to broody to see if her and babies are Okay.
DH stands there with door open.
Hen flies out.
I fly out.
Hen runs through blackberry bushes and woods.
I fly through black berry bushes and woods with large net and freshly shaved legs with shorts on
DH runs after us "chicken! chicken... chicken!!"
We spend about an hour searching small patch of woods and circling the area.
I give up, check on broody. She's ok. Babies ok.
DH goes inside.
I start walking in. See dog running with chicken in mouth.
I chase dog, screaming for "help"
Dog is scared of me (nother story...)
Dog releases chicken.
Chicken runs and hides under pile of junk surrounded by more thorns, roses this time...
I manage to get chicken, scared to death but ok.
Chicken goes back home.
I go back home, legs scratched up but nothing serious.
DH is NEVER allowed in the chicken coop EVER again.
