BAD DOG! I would be so mad at that dog!

We are mad... more sad than anything..... but she really doesn't understand, of course 2 of the 3 kids are ready to ship her elsewhere. We never had any problems before this with having the brooder inside the house, we had to put our older dog down this past summer and since then she is very bold and doesn't listen as well, even though we also have fosters here too.

Oh! I'm so sorry to hear....

I keep my brooder in my bathroom because I can close the door. This means from Mid-March till June my bathroom is the most popular room in the house. My daughter has even hauled in pillows and her ihome so she can sit with chicks while doing her homework

But I also take my dogs and cats in there, one at a time, and hold each baby for them to see and sniff. And my brooder is clear so the animals can see them, and get used to the sounds, by the time the birds move outside the other animals know they are "My birds" and therefore, part of the family.

I have one dog who, if excited enough, loses her self control, so it's not a foolproof system. But for the other three it works really well. The cats kill wild birds that come anywhere near the chicken run but will mingle harmlessly with the chickens. My roo tolerates them in the yard but will confront them if they go in the coop. You should see my housecats backing away from my banty roo

Great timing!!!!

I think they must have known this big hatch was coming and they wanted to join in. I wasn't expecting eggs from them till Spring because it has only been in the 20's for the high here the last week.
