Mahonri's 2nd Annual NYDHatch, watching them grow...

Kathy, I also like the first link... I didn't know about the 110 degree water if you are going to wash eggs.

I think it's just better to carefully rub off anything that is stuck to the egg.

So excited to join in with you! I was worried about how I was going to approach DH on using my present early (the bator arrived last week) and he just pops out with "You know I tease you about your chickens but I think it would be cool to hatch some of our own!" Well you know I had to jump on that and told him that I wanted to join in on this. YEAH!!

I am in the market for new hatchers. I use a Sportsman to incubate in, but I prefer the table top bators for hatching. I really would like to hear more about them, too. The drawback for me is that those nice plastic (easy to clean) ones only hold 20. I am thinking about the HovaBator Genesis.

Wahoo! So glad you'll be joining us.

Now is the time to set up buying your eggs. I imagine all of the breeders that don't live in cold country will be sending eggs all over the country for us in this New Year's Day Hatch along... Wahoo!

I'm setting up lights, so i should have a few eggs to swap by then.

The Brinsea holds 24, but they do have larger ones.

Looking at it, you'd never imagine that it holds that many eggs... and you are right. EXPENSIVE.
