Mahonri's 2nd Annual NYDHatch, watching them grow...

I'm tryin' not to laugh .... really, I am sorry, (chuckles, it IS funny though) .... Murphy's law, right?

I can NOT believe this, Steve! Stone Cold Steve should NOT be so worried and obsessive ... YOU were the one reassuring me on how to raise those crazy meaties! I thought you were the confident one!

OK, let me tell ya something .... about the humidity .... don't even worry about it. If there is some water in there, you are ok. I let it drop to 25% (has been lower when I forget) and don't even worry about it. I like 30 - 35% but it is still okay to drop. Sometimes I don't even use a hygrometer. The first 18 days you don't need much humidity anyway.

I know, those darn hygrometers will drive you nuts. I just bought 3 of them (Springfield) and calibrated them a couple days ago ... now today, they are all off, even with my calibration changes! 8% difference! Drives me nuts...

If you have water in there, you should be fine. Don't worry too much. I think it is better to be low than to be high (humidity) these first 18 days.

PS.... I am glad your meds were safe in your pocket.

That bit about humidity isn't overly reassuring since I'm now running at 45% LOL , but thank you Kathy . I think it will come down soon enough with the furnace running in this subzero weather . If not , I've never seen a hen trying to regulate humidity and our near feral bantam insect patrol used to go broody and hatch during the wet spring weather so ........................

Don't know what woke me up but it's a quarter to two and there are roos crowing!

crazy...

Hey Kathy, did you know we both have the same BYC birthday? Just a year apart from each other.

May 14th, we should PARTY!
