Mahonri's 2nd Annual NYDHatch, watching them grow...

Kathy turkeys are like potato chips.....they are funnier than Dels I enjoy their goofiness and tomorrow one is getting dressed for Christmas dinner

they do eat a lot of feed though and my Bourbons are true escape artists I still love them

I candled all the TJs eggs and it doesn't look like anything is developing. But I don't usually candle until day 10, anyway, so I put them all back in. You know, hopefully.

I didn't candle the BR eggs.

Nope. They totally ignore each other.

Not mine. But my turkeys brooded with chicks 2-5 weeks older than they were. The turkeys think my MFDU roo is their mom. My poor tom keeps trying to get jiggy with the bantam cochin.

I don't think she's noticed, since she has more than enough head clearance while she strolls under him.

Depends lots of folks on this board have both some can't they have "blackhead" kills turkeys....right now one of my Midget hens moved in with a bunch of chickens they all get along just fine but after all this rain I'm moving her back in where she belongs but it's cute she getting ready to lay and she's getting in one of the mangers with one of the Cuckoo hens I just can't seem to get a picture......Turkeys seem to get along with everyone just the male turkeys have to decide who is the boss turkey so I've penned my turkeys separate now for breeding less trouble that way. I just raise them together when they are little up to 12 weeks or so and haven't a problem.

-but read this thread to make me happy-just wanted to add I have a midget white breeding pair with my chickens and ducks. I think the hen thinks she's a duck. She follows the calls around and purrs to them and when they are in their poo,l she gets in with them and plays with them-talking up a storm-trys to snuggle them at night too.
