Kathy, I would love to take some those babies off your hands, if you were only closer to me.

I have been reading everyones posts that they been candling and went ahead and candled mine. I had to pull 3 that were clear and very pourous looking. I have 3 ??? but think at least 2 of those have the blood ring. It kept me from sticking my fat nose into my hatching incubator. After these NY babies, I will definately be getting the plexiglass and adding the window. I know I should have already had one in it, but did not get it done soon enough.

They are predicting heavy rain here for Tuesday and Wednesday. We need the rain, but I'd rather get it in the summer.

I really need a workshop or a garage. I wanted to paint some doors to go on a pen/coop for my quail, but just knew the rain would hit today as soon as I was half way through. I might lay an old sheet and newspapers in the house to do it.

But it has warmed up a little and wind has calmed down.

I am starting to understand how someone can get hooked on candeling.
Last night, I saw a little black thing in my Marans egg..looked like it was swimming...........
checked it again tonight...........think it was waving HELLO.....OMG...........
it is so adorable...need to not look anymore tonight.

I agree.

I'm not candling anything in my Brinsea again until lockdown.

I'll candle tomorrow or Tuesday (day 10) for my hovabator and then not again until lockdown.

Too much can go wrong when you candle and I'll be the first to admit I've cracked or dropped an egg.

I will be candling on Tuesday cause I always get better results on the 10th day or the 11th day after that I have learned not to touch them again till lock down when I take the egg turner out.
