Well, I am officially on the hunt for eggs for the New Year's Hatch!
I can't even hatch any mixed babies because every hen I have is on strike.
If anyone has anything to sell(reasonably priced) I need some eggs that I can have here on the 10th of December!

I've never incubated before, although I just purchased the octagon 20. I've been attempting to last until spring. Then I saw this post...

I think a new years hatch might be a little too cold in this neck of the woods though.

This looks like too fun an opportunity to miss. My chicks will be popping out of the incubator (thank you Nancy "Bargain") on the 9th and my kindergarten students should be really excited. Then I move the incubator to my son's kindergarten class. And those eggs I get to keep...So if I ordered eggs now...I should be able to set eggs on the 11th and they would hatch on New Year's...oh, but that is a Saturday! Fooey! So close but not a good date for the kids to get to see them hatch out. Ah well. Mine will be hatching a few days later. Argh! That was such a cool idea.
