Mahonri's 2nd Annual NYDHatch, watching them grow...

Quote:
I've got my Brinsea set at 65%. I'm trying to keep my hovabator at or near 65%... it's almost impossible. Son of Mahonri will be paid to go on incubator watch tomorrow.

The wind outside right now sounds like a hurricane. I closed both windows in the coop and put tarps over both of the breeding pens. I hate it when it's like this outside.

65 on one and only 50 on the other. Need to bring it up. This time I want to work with some of the setting here to see if they help.

Usually I set at 65% but I remember now that the only time I got BCM eggs to hatch I had it up to 70+

Mine went into lockdown at 11am Central Time.. 5 of the original 8 made it. And 1 of those 5, I am still not sure about. It doesn't look as far along as the others and I couldn't see movement. So it's probably no good..

I have never had less than a 98% percent hatch rate from my own eggs. So this has me a bit confuzzled.. Never fear though!! My girls are laying steady now and I will have atleast 2 dozen more eggs just waiting to go into the bator once the NYD babies are out.

Can anyone keep up with this thread?

I'm taking a break for a small amount of low sugar death by chocolate ice ??? (can't rightfully call it cream).

I'll BE BACK!

Thanks Wolf and Chooks! I love my Wellies! This guy is a loud mouth and will crow at the wind.

My gosh everytime I read one page and think I am near catching up......there's another page and sometimes 2 more to read.

Ok, how about a contest I'd have a shot at. Ding-a-ling with the most chickens still participating in a hatch even though they have no earthly reason to.

Maybe the prize could be counseling?
