Mahonri's 2nd Annual NYDHatch, watching them grow...

Happy Birthdays
Happy Anniversary
Happy Belated Birthday

Got home from work (and I did not speed...ok not too badly) and went straight to the bator. These pictures are horrible as the camera has to see through 2 plexiglass sheets and the plastic tub the eggs are in,but this is what I found...

And I think I see a pip in the egg just in front of the little not quite yet fuzzy butt.

I have a pip! It is a black barred bantam cochin split to buff barred bantam cochin. I quickly retrieved the egg and moved it from the Brinsea Advance to the ECO for hatching. I want to be able to tell the black split to buff from the buff split to black, whatever that means! Lynne will come along and help me out.

Anyway, congrats to all with birthdays and anniversaries! Happy Hatching.

I am right here with you featherz and same here. No pips or peeps yet. First thing I did was go check.

Great, I just noticed the Weatherbug flashing at the bottom of the screen. They are predicting another 3 to 6 inches of lake effect snow today in the Tooele valley. We have just barely cleared out the driveway from the snow we got the other day. I am ready for spring now. May I have it please? My horses keep looking at me when I let them out in the morning for breakfast like "Mom, why did you bring us to this place that is so cold and has so much white stuff on the ground?" All but one of them have spent their whole lives in either Florida or Arizona.

Wow just caught up with reading again! Happy Birthday wishes and Anniversary wishes to those celebrating!

We now have 8 pips(out of 14 put into lockdown), the 1st one from yesterday is now peeping and has a little bigger hole in its shell-no chicks completely out yet!

Been up since 4:30 am, not because of the incubator but because of the 5 month old Aussie pup we are fostering-she needed to go-and need her bedding changed. Warm and foggy out side with alot of our snow melting. My brother lives in AZ and doesn't care much for the snow, sounds like he has some now!

Our bator glass has a few nose prints and such but with 5 people watching plus one of the dogs sneaking a look- I'm glad we can still see in!
