Mahonri's 2nd Annual NYDHatch, watching them grow...

. I'm bummed too. I had one that hatched (sorta - it zipped partway then got glued in, so I helped after 24 hours of it trying to get out) It's not doing well, and I don't expect it to make it. This is the part of hatching that I don't like.

I did just have another chick hatch, probably the last. So I have 13 of the 15 I locked down. The ones that make it all the way to the end and die baffle me too.

For those that have asked about humidity at hatch - I keep mine from 55-65 percent in lockdown, during hatching it will spike briefly into the low 70's. I don't like mine any higher than that.

I wish all of you luck with your hatching.

I'm getting paranoid. Two chicks have hatched. They pipped yesterday, hatched today and now nothing. No pips and I can't tell if any are peeping over the already hatched ones. Technically they hit day 21 at 10:15 tonight. Should I get nervous. I am. Someone please talk me out of it!

Seeing all the different baby chicks of all types and sizes that everyone has hatched is worse than the shopping network for me. I want one of those, a few of these, oh oh I have to have that kind, ummmmm that one is a must have.

superchemicalgirl, that naked neck makes me want a few of those so bad.

My next hatch I really want a grab bag of a few eggs from about 4 or 5 different kinds. It is so fun to see what comes out of those eggs. Too bad I have to arrange shipping from all over the place to do that.

Don't touch! My last chick hatched about 8PM last night and I just had another one hatch now. Sometimes they take their time. The hatched one will be a cheerleader to get the other ones out!

I know exactly what you mean. I am already snooping around in the auctions. I did notice that a few sellers have several breeds, I wonder if they will mix & match.

x2 Only I don't even have any more pips since the last one hatched last night way before midnight.

Is the gluey chick standing? If so, there is probably a chance. Here is a pic of Elmer (hen by the way but the name stuck LIKE GLUE):

She is now a grown white crested black polish. There IS hope for shrink wrapped chicks. If only I had investigated earlier.

I don't have anymore pips either! That's why I'm so paranoid! A lot of money was paid for some of these eggs. By God some more better hatch!!
