Thank you so much!!! Here are pics of my two Ameraucana roos that my hen hatched out this summer. These were taken on their 5 mos BD a couple week ago.....

I'm thinking I probably should have asked but is it ok that my 2 broody hens are hatching my eggs? Does that still count? There is no way I can borrow silkiechicken's incubator again....I'd be divorced in the New Year lol. It's easier to slip a few eggs under a chicken and act all surprise when babies appear

I dont think those roos are Ameraucanas, but they sure are beautiful. Who were their parents? Do you have them?

Wow, pretty boys!!

Thanks Halo - I think they are gorgeous, but I may be a bit biased!

I'm also really glad they got a nice home that was not in the freezer.

I'm a very novice chickener (is that a word?) and got used to calling these guys A's, but I guess they are really EE's. I don't even know what characteristics constitute a true Ameraucana...... I do (did) have the parents! The hen got taken by a coyote this summer

but I still have the roo. He is the one that will be the father of the mixed breed eggs I'm planning on incubating for New Years! The roo is, I believe, what would be called a splash - he's white with orange patches on his back and wings. The hen was what I think is the 'typical' kind of brownish/greyish mixed color that a lot of these are.

Corgi, those boys are gorgeous!

Too bad they had to go to a good home, but I'm sure they're somewhere working diligently to pass on the pretty chickie genes

Can't wait to see what their new siblings will look like!
