Mahonri's 2nd Annual NYDHatch, watching them grow...

I have another question now.......sure seems like I have a lot! Thanks for everyone's help so far.

I purchased an inexpensive combo thermo/hygrometer and set up the salt solution test to check for accuracy. It's been in the bag for about 6 hours now, and the RH is reading at 85%. Is that possible it can be that far off? And do I still need to leave it for the full 10 or 12 hours? I used the 1/2 cup salt to 1/4 cup water, but the salt seems much wetter than what someone here described. It has a little bit of standing water on top of the sludge in the cup.......if there is too much water in there, will that throw off the test results? Or will it still be 75% even if the ratio of salt to water is not perfect? I feel like such a pest already!

How many do you currently have?

Lets see...
I have 3 grow out brooders with seramas, coturnix, blue laced red wyandottes
3 baby brooders with chickens, coturnix, and little quails (my single button is with 2 of the smallest coturnix at this time)
1 large coturnix grow out pen 5'x5'x2'high
1 coturnix breeder pen condo
1 chicken coop
1 button quail breeder pen condo

I think that's it.... might be missing 1 or 2

Another thing to stress me. I'm going to be checking all of my hygrometers now. I may as well KNOW how far they are off.
