Thank you so much!!! Here are pics of my two Ameraucana roos that my hen hatched out this summer. These were taken on their 5 mos BD a couple week ago.....
I hardly had any eggs all week... but two new girls I just got are both laying so I have just 4 duck eggs in for New year. I am buying a few silkies in the next two days- so I might have to buy a few eggs as well just to up the numbers a bit for my new year lot.
Okay, gang, wanted one perfectly healthy birrd to go broody at the right time on the 10 th or 11th...Must be within 30 miles driving distance of farm and must look like one of our breeds, so I can plan for an "escape" of our hen who went straight into a hidden broody pen for brooding and isolation purposes.. First I make and hide a broody place. .Can we do this, Can I hide a mystery from my husband? I talk so much to him, this will be hard. Rats, I promised no more incubation after the next 2 hatches....Could I accidentally put some eggs in the incubator instead of the refrigerator....And of course forget to wash them first. Why is it that broodies don't go broody when you want them to????.I wanna join the fun.
