I still have two of the four. Henna died from egg yolk peritonitis but some of my offspring are from her. Orri was re-homed due to aggression against humans. The 24 eggs you got are from Lukka and Henna offspring, as well as pullets from the Lyle Behl line. All were fertilized by Isi (hopefully). He is the only "of age" roo I have right now although someone started crowing this afternoon. Or, one os my neighbor's cars needs a tune-up!

Sad afternoon here at our house, my 3 kids got home from school before I got home from work and walked in to find that our Irish Setter had flexed her crate enough and got out and went upstairs where the brooder was and killed both of the test hatch babies
It doesn't make it any easier for them to know that we are setting more eggs on Sat. DH and I figure that the brooder will have to be keep outside in our heated garage but it is fun to have the babies inside where they can be handled regularly.

Okay, one of my chicks just hatched. Appears to have a crossed beak and an oddly swollen looking neck/head. Anyone have any info on this?
