Mahonri's 2nd Annual NYDHatch, watching them grow...

I'm DYIN' here!!! Still no sign of ANY of the FOUR shipments of eggs I'm eggspecting!! Oh help, oh help, oh help! What am I going to do if they come frozen? Or shaken to bits? Dislocated air sacs? I thought for sure SOMETHING would come today. But no.
(Just had to vent)

Believe it or not, we have been getting in the high 20s the last several nights and that is COLD for us-plus it's been REALLY cold in Tennessee and Virginia.
Thanks, SteveH-hoping so as well!

that they show up tomorrow in great shape

You guys make this sooo tempting. But with a little human chick due on Dec 28 I just can't. I'll be way to preoccupied to take care of some chicken chicks.

Yes. I just feel so privileged to have these eggs that can help to preserve "The Viking Hen".

I am so amazed at the range of colors. I noticed blues, reds, barred's/cuckoos, chickens that looked almost wheaten, lavenders... it's just amazing the colors you can get from the different pairings.

I'm also amazed at how you can get any eggs as they seem to go broody so often.

Mary, it is a work of love you have undertaken to spread and preserve this ancient breed.
